Tribeca Loft

A holistic renovation and new rooftop addition transformed a banal two-bedroom loft into a luminous four-bedroom garden home in a historic building of the Tribeca neighborhood in New York City.

The challenges were seemingly endless on this total gut renovation and new floor addition of a landmarked building on a narrow and dense Manhattan street. The building was fully occupied throughout construction, creating the challenges of managing the flow of work and materials efficiently with as little disturbance as possible to the residents within the building and adjacent neighbors while completely reconstructing the top floor and building a penthouse addition.

The narrow street was an additional challenge, resulting in choreographed phasing of demolition and construction across various trades throughout the project.
